The long, narrow and flat head of the Baryonyx from Schleich® Dinosaurs is similar to that of a crocodile, making it an especially exciting prehistoric reptile. This dinosaur is believed to have hunted primarily in the water, and could immerse its perfectly shaped snout into the water to catch fish. It also had unusually large and heavy hook-shaped thumb claws to grab prey. The Baryonyx probably spent as much time in the water as a crocodile does. Schleich Carcharodontosaurus Schleich model 15048 Product Dimensions: 33 x 17 cmAge: 3 years and up Released in NZ: March 2025  Carcharodontosaurus was one of the largest and most fearsome carnivorous dinosaurs, rivaling even the famous T. rex in size. Named after its sharp, serrated teeth, which resembled those of a great white shark, this predator was a formidable hunter. Although it may look that way at first, no two eggs are the same. They are of varying size and never have the same colour. They can be white, light or even dark brown. Schleich Agustinia Schleich model 15021 Product Dimensions: 33 x 5.5 x 10 cm Age: 3 years and up Released 2020; Retired 2024 This product will see production stopping at the end of 2024.  The Agustinia had upright spines along its back, just like the agustinia from Schleich® Dinosaurs.  The long, narrow spines of the Agustinia make it look so unique that it is impossible to mix up with any other dinosaur. It was also covered with unusual-looking ossified skin plates. As a harmless herbivore it probably needed the spines and plates to protect against other carnivorous dinosaurs. Schleich Badger Schleich model: 14842 Product Dimensions: 7.8 x 2.3 x 3.4 cm Age: 3 years and up Released April 2021; Retired 2024 This product will see production stopping at the end of 2024.  Schleich’s Badger is a sweet model of the woodland animal walking around the forest. This creature is painted predominately black with white colouring on its ears and face highlighting a slight smile on its face. Schleich Velociraptor Schleich model 14585 Product Dimensions: 17.5 x 6 x 10.3 cm Age: 3 years and up Released 2018  Velociraptors were likely very intelligent dinosaurs that hunted in packs. Although they were only 60 cm in height, these carnivores were able to overpower significantly larger prey. These dinosaurs reached speeds of up to 65 kilometres an hour and were capable of quick turns thanks to their stiff tails. To consume their prey, Velociraptors had at their disposal eighty sharp, crooked teeth in their flat snout, some of which 2.5 cm in length. The velociraptor is considered to have been one of the most intelligent and fastest dinosaurs. Schleich White-Tailed Doe Schleich model 14819 Product Dimensions: 8.6 x 3.5 x 8.5 cm Age: 3 years and up Released 2019  White-tailed does can see and hear very well, but rely mainly on their sense of smell and their speed. They are very agile and can sprint up to 48 km/h. Their grey-brown winter coat isn’t just camouflage against predators. Schleich Sloth Schleich model 14793 Product Dimensions: 4.5 x 3 x 5.7 cm Age: 3 years and up Released 2017  The sloth spends almost its entire life in the trees of tropical rainforests. Its curved claws give it a firm grip on the branches of the trees. Since it always hangs from the branches upside down, the sloth’s fur grows from its belly towards its back, instead of growing from its back or head. Schleich Tiger Schleich model 14729 Product Dimensions: 12 x 2.5 x 5.5 cm Age: 3 years and up Released 2015  The tiger's stripes are as varied and unique as fingerprints. Even the skin underneath is striped. At first glance, the striking pattern hardly seems to be beneficial. After all, the tiger does not want to be discovered by its prey immediately. When the tiger goes hunting in the twilight, it is however perfectly camouflaged with the stripes. They appear as tall grass moving in the wind or like fleeting shadows. Unlike many other "cats" and big cats the tiger swims well and likes it, too. Schleich Elephant African Female Schleich model 14761 Product Dimensions: 14 x 7.5 x 8.5 cm Age: 3 years and up Released 2016  Elephants are known as being thick skinned. However, their skin is so sensitive, they can even get sunburnt. That is why elephants often throw several layers of mud on themselves. This pleasant "cooling pack" also combats the scorching heat. While elephants cannot hear any better than other animals with their huge ears, they help them to cope with the African heat.
